Sunrise Recovery's parent facility is Sober Living by the Sea which is located in Orange County and has over 23 years experience helping men achieve lasting sobriety. The addictions experts at Sober Living by the Sea created Sunrise Recovery  to give men a highly structured foundation to help them overcome their alcoholic drinking or drug abuse. Sunrise Recovery has achieved an exceptional reputation in the field of recovery by combining an active and highly supervised treatment program with dedicated and passionate clinical expertise.

Structure and Self-Esteem in the Rehab Setting
Every man at our treatment facility has daily tasks that he must complete along with all of the other men. These requirements cultivate our clients' sense of accountability which builds self-esteem. Our experience has shown that keeping all of the men working in a positive direction together leads them to form bonds of fellowship with each other and the staff (most staff members are in recovery themselves).

When the men wake up at 5:45 a.m. and make their beds neatly (which they are patiently taught how to do by the other men), their day starts on a positive note and their self-esteem immediately begins to build. Throughout the day they continue by participating in positive recovery-oriented activities, including physical activities that provide a nice break from the steady stream of workshops, support groups, and therapy sessions. The men are required to keep common areas clean and wash their own laundry correctly. Other household chores help build structure and discipline into the man's life, which greatly aids in recovery.

We know that it is difficult to enter treatment for a substance abuse problem. We applaud your courage. Sunrise Recovery knows that chemical dependency is a progressive disease that leads to mental and physical deterioration, and even death. There is no cure to this disease, but it is treatable. Living a life of active recovery from addiction is an alternative to the turmoil of an unmanageable life of alcoholic drinking or drug abuse.

Our carefully structured drug treatment program is individualized to suit the needs of every man. Our philosophy combines the 12-step program with group therapy and individual counseling to help residents understand their disease, accept responsibility for their recovery, and find an alternative to the emotional chaos that has characterized their lives.
