Relapse Prevention

The process of receiving treatment for alcoholism or drug addiction at Sunrise Recovery Ranch involves a 2 to 1 ratio of staff to client and is very supervised and supportive.

There is a lot of love and care given to our clients; there are also esteem building routines that will give our clients a disciplined foundation to building long term recovery. Part of the process involves completing educational recovery workshops so that our clients will be able to understand more about their past behavior and have have a better defense against triggers in the future. Some of the topics included are:

• Anger Management

In particular, the Relapse Prevention workshop at Sunrise Recovery Ranch has been known to cause clients to have breakthrough moments of understanding about their history of relapse and how it can turn into a future of recovery.

During the Relapse Prevention sessions, specific techniques are taught on how to live and enjoy a sober lifestyle. The resident learns how to identify individual triggers that lead to relapse and receives help and suggestions on how to come through these situations sober. The focus is on behavior and how to affect positive change.

Because Sunrise Recovery Ranch offers highly structured 12-step based treatment on a secluded ranch and a 2 to 1 staff to client ratio, our clients do not have access to drugs or alcohol and can count on being sober for the duration of their stay here. Once the man who is an alcoholic or suffering from chemical dependency to a substance like crack cocaine, vicodin, or heroin gets his mind cleared of the drugs and starts to participate in his recovery with our expert clinical staff, he has a great chance at collecting the tools necessary for long term sobriety. This structured and spiritual environment is ideal for men who have been to other treatment facilities and have a high likelihood of relapse.

Another benefit to our relapse prone clients is that they will benefit from the outdoor activities which keep them busy (and under constant supervision). This caring and structured environment lends itself to even the most extreme addicts including those who are suffering from addiction to pharmaceutical drugs like vicodin and oxycontin.
