Admissions & Process - Drug Rehab in Riverside
You are not alone. Millions of Americans suffer from chemical dependencies and we have helped thousands of men change their lives at our facility. As soon as you pick up the phone and are connected with one of our caring advisors, the process will no longer seem daunting or mysterious, but will be just a series of questions that we will guide you through.
When you call our admissions team, there will be an initial screening about the drugs being used and quantities.
If you are calling on behalf of a loved one, it is helpful to know what substances are being used. It is also helpful to know about any other medical conditions and if there is a prior history of treatment for addiction.
Our admissions director will guide you through every step of the admissions process. You will probably have many questions about what life at Sunrise Recovery is like and we will patiently and thoroughly answer your questions. We can also arrange for an on-site visit so the person who is considering treatment can see the facilities and meet the key staff members.
What to Expect Upon Arrival
By the time a man arrives at Sunrise Recovery to check in, our clinical staff has begun the process of designing a treatment plan for him. Each man will undergo some preliminary processes so our staff can conduct an in-person assessment of the best course of action for the man. These processes include:
- a medical exam and appraisal of medical history
- an initial psychiatric evaluation
- an initial drug and alcohol test
If necessary, we will arrange for a medical detox for the initial recovery period so that the man can free his body of the addictive chemicals in as much comfort as possible.
Many times addiction causes men to exhibit other psychiatric
conditions and personality disorders which also need to be addressed.
Upon admission and throughout the treatment process, we screen for other behavioral or mood disorders like:
- depression or bipolar disorder
- anxiety disorders (like PTSD)
- Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD)
Our nurse and psychiatrist will provide medication management, provide regular checkups, and will also facilitate outside appointments if necessary.
During the check-in process, family members will meet staff members who will answer any questions that they may have. After the man who is to receive treatment officially receives all the rules, books, and workbooks, he will be expected to begin his treatment schedule at that time.
Family and loved ones are generally prevented from talking to the man in treatment directly for the first two weeks of the program, but are welcome to speak with staff members in the meantime.
